UnitedHealthcare has signed on as the official sponsor of the half-marathon to be held along with the upcoming 2009 Amica Marathon. Both of those races will be held along with a marathon team relay, Oct. 18 in Newport. "Serving as the naming sponsor of the UnitedHealthcare Half-Marathon and being a part of an event that showcases those who live healthy lifestyles is a perfect fit for our company," UnitedHeathcare of New England CEO Stephen Farrell said in an announcement released by Eident Sports Marketing. "We are thrilled to be a part of an event that promotes health and well being. This partnership emphasizes our mission of helping people live healthier lives." Runners can save up to $10 by registering before Sept. 1. Click here for a list of on-line and mail-in entry fees for the various races. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Providence Ronald McDonald House, which provides a temporary home to families with children hospitalized at local hospitals. |
