More information about the new race series coming this spring from race director Charlie Breagy: Cox Sports Marathon - Half Marathon- New Balance 5K The 1st Annual Cox Sports Marathon Will Be Held in Providence on Sunday, May 4th, 2008 On May 4th, 2008 the Cox Sports Marathon will start at the Johnson and Wales Harborside Campus in Providence, Rhode Island. The course will wind mostly through Providence and portions of East Providence and Pawtucket and culminate in Downtown Providence. The new course is mostly flat and scenic along the waterfront areas of Providence. Online registration is available online at www.rhoderaces.com A special entry fee rate of $50 for the marathon currently on offer to early registrations will expire January 5th, 2008. Cox Communications is the Title sponsor of the Cox Providence Rhode Races, featuring the Cox Sports Marathon, a half marathon and the New Balance 5K. Proceeds from the Cox Rhode Races will benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and will be supported by Team in Training, Cox Charities New England, which provides grants to area non-profit organizations. The course will be USATF certified and will serve as a Boston Marathon qualifier.
