Before day-of-race registrations were even tabulated, the field for the 18th annual CVS Caremark Downtown 5K was already well over 4,000, the youth races were at about 1,100 and the High School Inspirational 3K had hit 1,600. Race director Charlie Breagy reports that with the flood of late entrants from this morning added in, the event came up just six shy of the 7,000 mark, enjoying a record turnout.
