| Breen remembers words of "gladiator" Blais: "What we do in life... echos in eternity." »
The family of Jonathan Blais, the local triathlete who died earlier this year after a 2-year battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease, will hold a ``celebration of life'' for the ``Blazeman,'' on Aug. 31 in Bristol. Blais' mother, Mary Ann, provides these details: ``His celebration of life will be on August 31st at 6PM sharp. We want to work it around the sunset and the good Srs. of St Dorothy who have been gracious in letting us use their beautiful grounds right on Narragansett Bay next to the beach (Jon's favorite spot he took girlfriends). NBC filmed him there, that is where you see him walking down the path to the water. We are planning a true Braveheart sendoff with a bagpiper, braveheart sword and have invited some special friends of Jon to read some very emotional writings. We hope to end that part with the sun setting-Jon's favorite time and he loved to capture that on film with his camera. ``We will then proceed to the Roger Williams conference center for refreshments and time to allow other friends the opportunity to speak and meet people that were in Jon's life. We also are planning a picture slide show and video that people are putting together. The first celebration actually is in Bristol, Rhode Island and the Roger Williams conference center is over the Mount Hope Bridge in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. ``Anyone interested in attending may contact me at Blazemanmom@comcast.net'' TrackBackTrackBack URL for this entry: 0 TrackBacksListed below are links to blogs that reference this entry: Celebration of Life for Blais to be held Aug. 31.
