Project LEARN:
Project LEARN is a non-profit adult literacy agency established in 1984
to provide literacy programs for adult learners, who often have learning
disabilities. Our classes and programs are scheduled day, afternoon and
evening, in community based organizations and libraries in Woonsocket,
Cumberland, Central Falls and Pawtucket, and in our offices at One Social
Street, Woonsocket. Web-based Distance Learning programs offer students
access to additional instructional support 24/7.

OUR INNOVATIVE LITERACY SERVICES:
• Family Literacy Program promotes good reading habits for children and
prepares adults to take the GED exam.
• The Wilson Reading System ‘works’ for learning disabled adults.
• Literacy programs at the Family Resources Woonsocket Homeless Shelter
help residents become self-sufficient.
• Computer Lab - Students use cutting edge software such as My Reading
Coach and Lexia help students to dramatically improve their reading skills
and simultaneously improve their computer skills.
• Accelerated basic skills classes provide learners with the skills necessary to
improve their workplace skills and to prepare for the GED.
• English Literacy/Civics classes support new members of the community in
acquiring English literacy skills and understanding American culture.
• Distance Learning provides the opportunity for learners to prepare for the
GED tests, improve basic skills, qualify for job training/certificate programs
or college entrance and is flexible and convenient, available 24 hours a day,
7 days a week.
