Tuesday Night Turtle Don Henderson had an eventful day at the recent AT&T Austin Marathon. The 48-year-old North Kingstown resident placed 23rd overall in a field of nearly 4,600, finishing second among the Masters with a time of 2:39:09. The performance ranks as Henderson's second-best marathon time. He clocked a personal best of 2:36:01 at the 2004 St. George Marathon in Utah. ``Race conditions were perfect - clear, cool & virtually no wind - but the course had some challenging, rolling hills in the first half,'' Henderson reports. ``For the first time in my 27 marathons to date, I was able to run strong from start to finish and actually ran negative splits - 1:19:50 for the first half and 1:19:19 for the second half.'' Next up for Henderson is the Boston Marathon. It will be his 11th time running that storied race.
