The USA Women's 10K Championship - to be contested tomorrow at the Tufts Health Plan 10K for Women in Boston - will feature the three fastest U.S. women at 10,000 meters this year, and Providence's Amy Rudolph is one of them. The reigning USA Outdoor 10,000-meter champion and runner-up at the USA 5K road championship held just down the street from her home at last month's CVS/pharmacy Downtown 5K, Rudolph will be joined on the starting line by defending USA 10K road champion Katie McGregor, of Minneapolis, and Kara Goucher, of Portland, Ore. ``Having won last weekend's TC 10 Mile for the fifth time in a Minnesota state record time of 53:51, McGregor heads into the race with a great strength base from her preparations for her marathon debut later this fall at the ING New York City Marathon,'' according to USA Track & Field. ``McGregor's main competition will come from Goucher, who ran the third fastest 10,000 meters ever by an American woman last July at the GE Money Grand Prix in Helsinki, Finland. Goucher finished third in a time of 31:17.12, while McGregor was fifth in 31:32.17.'' Another strong contender will be NCAA Division I 10,000-meter champion Victoria Jackson, of Tempe, Ariz. The USA Women's 10 km Championships is the final race on the women's 2006 USA Running Circuit (USARC).
