The Rhode Island chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program sent in this report on yet another successful outing: ``The R. I. Team in Training group took 18 runners and 12 walkers to participate in the Portland Maine Marathon and everyone finished in excellent condition. Coach Jim Doyle directed the runners and Michael Hoffer worked with the walkers as many of the team members were first time participants. The Rhode Island Team raised more than $60,000 for Cancer Research and once again all of the 2006 runners and walkers finished each event throughout the year; including Marathon events in Disney World (Florida ), Country Music (Tennessee), San Diego (California) and Portland (Maine). The R. I. Team in Training groups will now concentrate on The San Francisco, Disney, San Diego and Anchorage Marathons which will take place over the next eight months. There will be informational meetings in January for the two summer events and all levels of runners and walkers are welcome to join the future teams.''
