The Rhode Island Road Runners will once again honor the memories of two of their most dedicated club members at the sixth annual Jerry Musco Memorial Road Race, on May 21 (9:15 a.m. for the walk, 9:30 for the run) at Lincoln High School.

A portion of the proceeds from the 5K -- named in honor of long-time runner and RIRR president Jerry Musco, who lost his battle with cancer in June 2000, will go to a scholarship fund established for graduating student-athletes from Johnston, Lincoln, North Providence and Smithfield high schools.

Smithfield’s Kristina Fox was the 2004 scholarship recipient, while Stacy Lima of Lincoln received last year’s scholarship.

The running club will also honor the memory of Leo Tomasetti -- once one of the top senior runners in New England, who died a year after Musco of an apparent heart attack -- by presenting a trophy in his name to the top overall male and female finishers.

The entry fee is $20 on race day.
